Welcome to the Newsome High School JROTC Booster Club!

My name is Betsy Wilk and I am the President for the 2025/2026 school year.

The Booster Club was created last year to support JROTC through fundraising and volunteerism. With approximately 175 cadets, 6 competing teams, field trips, summer camps and weekend commitments, it is not easy or inexpensive to run this program. For years, many wanted to help but there was no real organization to it. With the creation of the Booster Club, we are working to change that.

One such change was assigning Team Parents for each of our 6 competing teams. If your child is on either the Raiders, Rifle, Drill, Color Guard, Cyber or JLAB team, please make sure your information has been passed along to the Team Parent via the Team Captain. That Team Parent will communicate opportunities to support the cadets on your child’s team.

The Booster Club will share any other opportunities to support your cadets when they arise.

Fundraising is another big part of our mission. The Booster Club’s biggest goal this year is to raise enough money to put a roof on the rifle range, install air conditioning and install electronic targets. JROTC just launched their annual Wolf-A-Thon this past week. Please share it with your family and friends as it is JROTC’s biggest fundraiser. The Booster Club is hosting a Bingo Night at Bullfrog Creek Brewery on November 11th (Veteran’s Day). If you’ve ever been to a Bingo night at Bullfrog Creek Brewery, you know it is always a great time and the prizes are fantastic. We hope to see you there!

We recently closed our Team Store which was both a fundraising opportunity for us and a chance for you to get some swag to support your cadets. But don’t worry, we hope to open it again soon for those of you that missed it. Thank you to those that placed orders. They are currently in production and will be sent home with your cadet once we receive them.

There are a couple of big events on the calendar to share. We are hosting both a Raider’s competition on October 4th and Best Raiders on December 6th. We are also hosting a Drill competition on February 28th. Come support your cadets! And on February 13th, the cadets get to celebrate all their hard work at their very own Military Ball.

Thank you again for joining the JROTC Booster Club. We look forward to working with you to further the success of our outstanding JROTC program.
